Supervision with Ali
Ali brings 8 years of clinical experience to Insightful Therapists and has been a qualified supervisor actively working with interns for over a year.
As Ali began her career in the field she realized one of two things, that she was not only passionate about helping her clients but she was just as passionate about helping grow and develop new clinicians into their own powerful and loving healers in the field.
Many years ago as an intern, Ali was placed at a site with little guidance or direction. She was forced to step up and become a leader. She was deemed “the lead intern” and she took this role very seriously. Years later she was promoted to Lead Therapist and has since realized the impact she has not just on her clients but on new therapists in the field.
After almost a decade of experience she has been honored to work with many new therapists, helping them problem solve, find their own theoretical orientation, therapeutic flow, and most importantly, learn how to not take themselves so seriously!
What to Expect?
Under the transformative guidance of Ali, you will experience her innovative and unique style of supervision. Ali uses what she has coined as the Supports, Strengths, and Skills Model. This model focuses specifically on tailoring supervision to fit your own personal strengths and needs!
The Supports, Strengths, and Skills Model
- This model values collaboration, trust, rapport building, supporting/uplifting new therapists, encouraging them to identify their personal strengths/assets, normalizing fears, and anxieties, and implementing skill building.
- In supervision, Ali utilizes the same theoretical orientation that she utilizes with her clients, which is a person-centered and gestalt approach. However, she is big on allowing new therapists to grow in effectiveness with their own personal theoretical orientation and style!
- Ali works to identify, utilize and amplify supervises strengths.
- Ali empowers her supervises to problem-solve with her guidance, structure, and support.
- Ali teaches new skills and techniques through role-playing, role reversal, and other experimental interventions.
- Ali focuses on assisting her supervisees in increasing their awareness and insight into personal biases/limitations and helping them work through any barriers in a safe and supportive environment.
- Ali utilizes regular goal setting to identify areas that may need improvement and works side by side with the supervisee to help them meet their personal goals.During meetings with Ali the focus will be on case studies, therapeutic interventions, boundary setting, countertransference, ethical issues, psycho-education, and developing any area you feel you are needing improvement on. We do this together!
